low key weekend

I've been so blog boring lately...don't really have anything to blog about. Wes and I had a really low key weekend AND it was great!!! Friday night we ate sushi with some friends and then had movie night out our house. Saturday after I cooked breakfast for us all we took Keegan & Justin to puppy paws...they have been talking ab getting a new baby. This little girl was sooo sweet!

I had never seen a baby weenie dog before...thought he was pretty cute. He was actually the calmest one of the bunch and so laid back.

Keegan & Justin came back over that night to watch Friends with Benefits, not my fav. And K and I cooked the boys fajitas.

Sunday was church and then enjoyed lunch at Cracker Barrel. That night we had chili and watch another movie at K & J's house. whew...what a weekend full of movies! :)

We've been super busy lately but I have been bad about taking pictures! We're still working on the house, especially the back yard. We've been laying sod like crazy and getting ready to plant some trees and start our garden. I'm soooo excited about the garden, I've always wanted one. I'm not very good about watering the plants (that's Wes' job). So we will see how this whole garden thing goes.

Friday night we ate at my fav place Mojitos with KiKi & Justin and then played cards at our house. Saturday was a busy day...I spent the first half with mom, Lynlea, & Joss. We ate lunch at Market Place and then hit up the mall for a few hours. I saw lots of fun springs things that I "NEED." Then Saturday night a bunch of us ate Joe's Italian in Springdale and hung out at our house til the wee hours of the night/morning. I love getting a bunch of people together to play cards. KiKi & Justin went to church with us Sunday morning and then did sandwiches for lunch. Wes and I went to mom's that night for a big ham dinner. Monday night was the usual bachelor night...Keegan comes to watch it with me and Wes goes to hang out with Justin (good night). Allison and Bert came over last night for enchilada night and dessert. whew...now it's Wednesday! Happy Hump Day

Last weekend the 4 of us were out messing around and we decided to run into Puppy Paws "Just to look" well...look what mom came home with. We went in and she immediately fell in love but she talked herself out of her so we left. Ran errands all day long then Wes was driving us home and went back to Puppy Paws and she bought her. She is super sweet and oh so cute!

She has been called Lexi (and that stuck for a few days) then Lucy was in the talks, now she is being called Sadi but that hasn't stuck either. Poor baby needs a name! Roxi LOVES her. I mean is obsessed with her, checks on her constantly and the feelings are definitely mutual. I was a little bit worried since I remember how Lyla felt ab Hemi when we brought him home and I didn't think mom needed another dog but they were meant to be together. Call us crazy but we love our dogs! Mom has 4 to be exact so with our 2, we have 6 total when we go visit. (Mom has 2 that are outside only)

Tonight we had our 1st "10 Year SHS Reunion meeting" and we broke out the old year book to bring back some good memories. I can't believe we have been out of HS for TEN WHOLE YEARS! Talking about it tonight only seems like I have been gone for maybe 5 years, craziness! So when I came home I was digging through all my old photos on my computer. I have TONS in a box that I would love to scan in and share (maybe another time).

It's so crazy to think about what we were like in HS and how different everyone is now. We've all grown up and I feel so old and I don't like it.

Bachelor Recap

Oh the good ole Bachelor is back...I'm honestly kinda burnt out but I continue to watch! I love to see what everyone is wearing, the hair dos/dont's, nail polish :), etc! So Keegan and I watched it again, we missed Christine but she had homework to do.

Oh Benny, I kinda have mixed feelings about him. He's definitely not my favorite but I felt sorry for him last season with Ashley. I did not like her at all and WHY would she let him get on one knee and propose and then say NO. Shameless girl! So I hope he finds someone better this season.

What in the world was up with the group date "play" they put on. Ridiculous and so stupid is my opinion. Those girls are goofy...

First one on one date with Kacie, I like her! She seems sweet, hometown girl, down to earth, genuine, nice girl. That's only after the 2nd show so things could obviously change, we shall see. He seemed to like her ok too, nothing to special but they did share a kiss.

Oh Courtney...she is kinda caddy. She is a model and that's great and all but not a fan. Ben is really into her so that makes it worse. I honestly don't see what she has but then again only the 2nd show. He talks her up a lot.

I like Lindzi...yeah yeah she rode in on a horse but hey she is cute and sweet.

This poor girl...I want/NEED her blog. I'm so glad to see her go, to emotional for my liking! She seems insecure and gets so nervous while talking to him she sounds like a complete fool.

Last night we had a Razorback watch party at Kyle & Christine's for the Cotton Bowl!!!

HOGS brought their A game last night and won the Cotton Bowl game against Kansas State. A few years ago Wes & I went to Dallas for the Cotton bowl with Laci & David...Man, we picked the wrong one to go to! We were FREEZING and we ended up loosing. This one was at the new Cowboys stadium (inside), the weather has been amazing, and we WON!!!

*I want to note that our weather has been kinda crazy, it kinda weirds me out. The whole global warming and stuff. It was 67 degrees yesterday January 6th which is crazy. It's in the high 50's today and supposed to be all week. SO WACKY

Last night we celebrated Paul's birthday at JJ's with the family!!! He had a BIG surprise coming and had NO clue as to what it was! His cute Razorback cake, we are going to the Cotton Bowl you know!

He thought mom had already given him all his gifts...pullover & a shirt but he was in for it.

Back to Life...Back to Reality

Well, the time has come...my break is now over! I enjoyed my whole 2 weeks off SO much! I got a lot done, celebrated with friends & family, organized, packed away all my Christmas stuff, cleaned house A LOT, entertained friends, danced the night away, had some lazy days, slept in, stayed up late, got massages, shopped online & at the mall, went out to eat, drank a bottle of wine, had lunch dates with my hubby, played games, spent the night at my mom's, got my hair done, and much more!!! But I'm kinda excited to get back in my classroom and see my kiddos, I've missed them. And I know they have missed me, ha!!!
I made a few New Years Resolutions too so I'll share some:

1. Save more, spend less

2. Get healthier (I'm not gonna say work out every single day and loose 25lbs or whatever, I just want to be healthy)

3. Make some great memories

4. Go to another country

5. Walk my dogs 3 times a week

6. Finish decorating my house

7. Paint a room in my new house

8. LIVE life to the fullest

9. Go on vacation with some great friends

Hopefully I can do all of these!!! I've already made some great memories so far this year and we're currently planning a vacation with some dear friends. Can't wait to see what 2012 holds!!!

My tree this year...I'm LOVING burlap and mercury glass so guess what? I used burlap ribbon and tons of mercury glass ornaments.

We had Thanksgiving at our new house this year, so that was exciting!!!

I didn't take many pictures...I've been terrible lately!

After lunch we all piled up on the couch and chair to relax. The dogs had a ~~little~~ turkey since it was a holiday so they piled up too.

Our dogs haven't slept as good as they did that night in a LONG time. I told Wes we would have to start feeding them turkey more often. HA

Saturday we ran into Petsmart to pick Roxi up from the groomer and I couldn't resist! This costume is hilarious, it was a basketball player. She wasn't his biggest fan, ha.

Friday night Wes and I ran to eat mexican food with the neighbors then everyone came over here to watch the game. The guys ended up in the garage and us girls stayed inside. I think Wes and I got in bed that night around 2am after everyone left. The guys were going to get up early to hunt but they didn't make it. :(

Saturday we ate lunch, ran some errands, watched the hogs @ Keegan & Justin's house, ran more errands, wedding, home, & bed for me. Wes ended up walking over to the neighbors to hang out around the fireplace. He came in around 1:30am and had to be up and ready to hunt by 5. I was passed out. Didn't hear a thing and didn't get out of bed until 9 the next morning. We had a busy but FUN filled weekend!!!

Saturday night we went to Adam Ruff & Allison's wedding! They got married at the methodist church on Dickson and reception was @ SCC. It's so fun to get all dressed up and go somewhere nice.

We had a big time @ the reception. We ate, ate, drank, & danced the night away.

It was like a big SHS reunion, so that was fun getting to see everyone. They had a big wedding party and left the reception via helicopter. WHAT? Yes, it picked them up to fly them to James @ the Mill. so fun!

Just chillin' on the couch like such a big girl. She is getting so big...makes me sad. One little Strawberry shortcake girl rang the door bell...said trick or treat...and then said "I like your baby" so sweet.

Joss got a new bouncer from mimi and she was lovin' it! She didn't really know what to think at first but got the hang of it as the night went on.

She would get around to ever side and see what she could get her mouth on. lovely.

We had probably about 50-60 trick or treaters total...pretty good turnout. I figured we would have a lot in our subdivision. We had some cute little guys. Our little boy neighbors were a cowboy and a little cow and the other neighbor was a cute little dinosaur. SO CUTE!!! I passed out capri sun's this year along with candy. I was a big hit!!! I only had 30 of them and they were GONE early in the night. ole well, good thing I had candy to pass out too.

this past wknd us girls...me, mom, lynlea, & joss went to mema's house so she could meet joss. we left about 1:30 friday afternoon for our journey. joss wasn't a big fan of the carseat for that long. (i don't blame her). so we stopped a few times to let her stretch and potty breaks. she took 2 1hr naps so that helped a little. we got to j town around 6 so we had dinner at olive garden with aunt mae. first time joss sat in a high chair by herself. we didn't have her infant car seat b/c she rides more comfortable in her big seat.

she's like "seriously" back in this dang thing? poor baby...we only had ab a hour drive from here. she fell asleep the last 30 minutes. mema was excited to see her. joss would make the funniest face at her i've ever seen. she scrunches up her little nose, little stinker. i think i have her a little (LOT) spoiled.

We visited and went to bed around midnight. joss slept from 10-7 so the next morning i heard her talking in the other room so i snuck in and stole her for some cuddle time. we played, cuddled, & had a bottle before everyone else got up. Lynlea slept until 9:30!!!!

bath time was quite the experience...ha! she didn't mind it one bit.

saturday we headed to jonesboro to shop and meet pat for lunch at red lobster. we also got to watch part of the hog game. GO HOGS!!!! #8 baby!!!! made a full day of that and headed back to mema's for the night. then we decided we would just hit the road and drive thru the night so joss would do better. i drove until russelville and then mom took over. that was at ab 11ish. joss was really fussy for the first 30-45 minutes and then passed out for the rest of the way. THANK GOODNESS! we drove right thru a storm where you couldn't see the road or anything beside/behind/infront of you. pretty scary but we made it home just in time to hit the sack!

I have so many pictures that I need to catch up on. We had Joss one Saturday out shopping and Wes took her to the HOG store and got her a cheerleader and also some stickers for her cheeks. So Sweet!!!

One of our guest rooms is all complete...yippie!!!

I used our old furniture from our master and also the bedding we used for a few months. I love this bedding and knew I definitely wanted to keep it so I stuck it in the front room.

I added the chain, ribbon, and brooch to the lamp shade. It used to be at mom's house but she ran out of room fast so I got it off her hands.

We have gotten A LOT accomplished this last week. I have pics of the dinning room that I will post tomorrow :)

I'm working on a shower curtain for a guest bath, I purchased a rug for the living room, getting a mirror and end/coffee table this wknd for the LR, I'm going to sew my living room curtains & new pillows for the couch, and then i will be set! I'm still looking for that "right" piece for our entry!

Sunday after church Wes and I picked Joss up and headed to mom's. We helped her get ready for a big shrimp boil. A bunch of Paul's family came to town to eat and Wes' parents came by too. It was a little chilly but we had a great time and a good turnout.

Saturday Wes and I went to the 1st HOG game of the season! We didn't tailgate or anything we just went to the game and left early to go eat.

It was about 100 degrees outside BUT we had the best seats ever. 50 yard line about 30 rows up. PERFECT!!!

I'm not totally convienced about our team yet. I mean yeah we beat the snot out of them Saturday but look who we were playing. And we had a few mishaps. So, we shall see how this season goes.

scarlett basically begged to ride this. she kept pointed and running straight for it. she was pretty serious while she rode. laci scored it as a C-

on to the good stuff. i had me a foot long corndog. hey why not? it was only $1 more than the small ones. wes had to help me finish it off.

closest i will get to a full grown cow. there was one who was loose running down the sidewalk. i jumped up on this ledge right out of it's way. this young little girl, probably like 10 was trying to lead it somewhere. ha. too big for her to handle.

scarlett wasn't too sure what to think of the cows. hey, i do not blame her. i do not/will not mess with a cow. it's always been one of those things that kind of terrify me.

Last weekend the whole fam was out running errands and we noticed RHS Cheerleaders were having a car wash. hmmmm...wonder if my old friend Brittany is there? Yep, she was the one doing all the work. So I couldn't resist from letting her wash my car. All the cheerleaders just stood around while she washed all the cars, pretty funny.

Then of course I scooped this little thang up for some auntie time. She can almost hold her bottle all by herself. She's growing too fast!

she's already getting a top tooth so she has been running a little fever and has been a lot fussy. i kept her saturday but only for a few hours b/c she was so fussy. not fun. ;( she chews on everything (except her paci) constantly. she would grab her blanket or burp rag so she could stick it straight in her mouth. poor girl.

I've been laying out A LOT...every single day to be exact! On Monday I laid out for ab 4 1/2 hours and got a good base color down. Each day I've added a few more hours. Yesterday Lynlea, Joss, & I met mom for lunch, sushi!!!

I watched Joss this morning while Lynlea got her oil changed and her hair done. So we ran a few errands! I think she likes this one, ha.

This last week I made some delicious dinners so I had to share! This is definitely one of our new favorites: Jalepeno Lime Chicken!

I make fish tacos on a regular basis, at least once a week! We both love them so much and they are semi healthy!

I also love fresh homemade salsa, ingredients from the garden.

I've been putting cilantro on EVERYTHING I cook. I love the way it tastes so much..chicken enchiladas.

wes and i went with allison and bert to the casino friday night. we love to go eat dinner there, so yummy. and then we usually listen to the band and dance a little. *funny story* i looked up the "entertainment" before we went to see which night we wanted to go. so we picked friday night since this really good band was playing some great songs we all knew. so the 4 of us went and then we had a few other people come and meet us to hang out. well at show time out comes a bunch of older men in western wear...hmmmm! not the band i had looked up and did a bunch of research on so i was a little worried. i immediately grabbed up the calendar and guess what??? the band I THOUGHT was playing friday night was really playing saturday night. NOOOOOOOOOOO...i looked at the wrong date. we all started looking around and we were the youngest people in there by far. but we stayed a little while and they played some good ole honky tonk and then we called it a night around midnight. we still had ourselves a good time. :)

Sunday we had a pool party at my aunt's house and a MASSIVE fish fry. Yep, all those fish the boys caught went to good use. This is one of Carrie's dogs. Everyone there has at least 1 and some have 2 dogs each so we laughed all weekend about the "Dog Pound"

Wes and I spent the weekend in Kennett with my side of the fam. We had soooo much fun, great weekend. We headed out Friday afternoon and only stopped one time and that was to get a taste of this. Strawberry shortcake from the Bulldog in Bald Knob, so delicious!

As soon as we got to Carrie & Dusty's we ate a burger and the guys immediately headed out to fish. Wes has been wanting to go sooo bad since he has been seeing all the pictures of those HUGE catfish being caught. So us girls just hung out at the house and ran to WalMart for our float trip. The next day the guys headed back out at the crack of dawn to check thier trot lines.

They caught some fish...thank goodness! Made Westley's weekend, ha.

Everyone met to head out to float. We FINALLY started around 2:30, ha. We were suppose to start hours earlier but no one around there is on time. :)

I had NEVER floated in a tube and I will NEVER again, ha. I like a little more stability and safety than just a little tube with all your body touching the water, yikes!

BUT...they are working on for me that will be ready in about 2 weeks. MADE MY WEEK!!!! and mine is cuter...i'm so excited. i even got wes so excited. we seriously spent like 2 hours in this place, and it's small. oh and mine will have a matching buffet...EXCITING. this place has the BEST stuff in the world and very reasonably priced. i want to furnish my whole house from here.

we had a pretty low key weekend, i like those every once in a while. friday night wes and i met al and bert for dinner at mojitos pretty late and then we ran to the mall to do a little late night shopping. saturday wes slept in (what's new) and i cleaned up the house and went to mom's since she had joss all day. wes mowed & did some yard work while us girl ran some errands and went shopping. then we had wing night with mom & paul and called it a pretty early night. we looked at houses all day sunday. and it's already monday AGAIN! we went to al & bert's house to eat dinner and watch the bachelor tonight. i'm really not to into it this season as i have been in the past. ashley just doesn't do it for me. and her guys aren't that great either. my favo is j.p. so far and i don't really like the rest so hopefully he stays a while. it's gonna be a busy week! tomorrow night is our naturals night with al & bert and wednesday night we have dinner with mom & some family from oot for the wedding!

I think it's been a couple of wknds but better late than never. Wes and I went to the farm to enjoy the HOT summer day. We never got a spring around here. It seriously went from cold to HOT and a little rain & tornadoes in between. I will take a hot day over a cold one any day though :) Scarlett hanging in Jack's car eating her "mini" banana! She is about to take off any day and I have a feeling there will be no catching her.

This snake was right up at the house next to the porch and I'm sure I walked right by it and didn't even notice! YUCK!!!

Terry picked it up and threw him out in the woods. I'm sure he will make his way right back where he was in no time. He was pretty chill laid out in the bush.

I babysat Josslyn one night last week so Lynlea could run some errands and tan. Wes & I had already planned on our weekly dinner with Al & Bert so we just took her with us. Bert didn't want to hold her at first but look who ended up with her. I had to run to the bathroom so Allison held her and she immediately started fussing so Bert grabbed her up and soothed her, ha!

Milk drunk in my lap right after she finished herself a large dinner.

Time to pack up and head home.

We stopped at ate dinner on our way to the casino!!!

ooops, I've been a bad blogger lately! It's been a pretty crazy week. End of school and summer school already started. So I've been busy getting my room ready, re-done, cleaned out, organized, blah blah blah. I've been SEARCHING everywhere for a LBD to wear for mom's wedding. It has been SO HARD! I found a few cute ones at Maca... I love one shoulder but I didn't like the body of this one.

This one was really cute but not for me and not for a wedding.

I didn't love this one at first but the more I tried it on the cuter it got. It ended up in the running! VERY PARTY...ISH

The back was super cute but it was too big and they didn't have any smaller sizes.

Just alright but very plain!!

I DID find my dress and I do love it so now I just have to wait till the wedding to post pictures!!! Less than 2 weeks away...WHAT

This was just one of the scary nights we had last week when we had to take cover from the tornadoes.You can'ts see Hemi but he is right under the floral pillow snuggled up in my lap. He knows exactly what to do when we rush to our safe spot.

Then one night we all went up to mom's house to stay together so we could all be prepared for the tornadoes. Hemi loves to guard Joss when he's around her. He checks everyone out that even gets close to her to make sure they are "ok." ha He sat in my lap the ENTIRE time I held her that night, so sweet! I kinda thought Lyla would have been the "protection guard dog" with Josslyn (since she has poodle in her) but she could have really cared less. Mema had a poodle when Lynlea and I were both little and she guarded us.

1st year together

Last weekend we celebrated our 1st Anniversary! We had a pretty low key weekend, we didn't have anything planned. ha! We wanted to take a trip but decided not to since Lynlea was due on the 19th (right before our anni). Next year we are definately going somewhere!!!! After church and lunch at Noodles with dad we ran a few errands and then actually ate dinner at Market Place. Bad weather was coming in that night so we made it a quick dinner so we could be safe at home.

It wasn't that bad, it just wasn't that great. We joked around saying we may have to eat our cake in the bathroom aka "Our Safe Spot" from the tornadoes.

Wes is notorious for wrapping all my gifts crazy to try and trick me! So this is how my new coach purfume was wrapped up in a shoe box.

He also got me a new Hobo purse and wallet....he did so good b/c I didn't ask for this! I LOVE IT!

It's crazy that we have been married a year already. Sometimes it still seems like I should be getting all my stuff ready for my wedding. HA

We have had such bad weather lately, it's actually been pretty scary. Joplin got hit so bad...so scary & sad. They are sooo close to us and Allison's hometown. It's sooo real when it's so close to home, I hate it for that town. This was the road on the way to mom's house...flooded.

The pond couldn't hold any more water, it had overflowed into the road.

They alwasy have to close down the roads leading into mom's neighborhood. They get so flooded!!!

After the crawfish boil we loaded up in the truck and on 4-wheelers to go see all the new babies. That truck was loaded down, ha.
